The Speech under National Flog

　　Hello everybody! I’m Chen Qijie, a student from Class Ten, Senior One. It is my great honor to give you a speech on this stage with the given topic: Never Give Up.

　　Give up, is a thought; and never giving up is a belief! Because the sun never gives up, it finally broke through the heavy fog, because the grass never gives up so it finally grows into a green over the earth! So, we have no reason to complain about a failure and give up.

　　As a proverb saying goes, “Don’t lose faith, as long as the unremittingly, you will get some fruits.” On the way to success, the spirit of never giving up is one of the most important things we should always keep in mind. We don't always get our hopes and dreams as we expected, and we don't always stay on our own way as we planned. As a student in Senior One, we should be always reminded of that. Now we are in the second term of Senior One, there are many changes having taken place. Have you ever noticed them? For example, we have to plan the daily issues tightly. We always got to dining hall for breakfast at around 6:55 a.m. last term, but now we may get there much earlier. In spite of this, we still feel that we are chasing after time, because we have so much homework and extra exercises to do. Maybe this is just one out of abundant examples of our campus life, but it can cast light on how heavy burdens we are experiencing. Faced with such difficulties, most of us will feel exhausted, hopeless and maybe go downhill. But should we give up? Can we stop before our dream come true? Of course not, the point I want to make clear is that we have to keep on going on our way without any hesitation. Once, you may wonder about what can be done under such situation, but you can always do a little bit. Doing a little bit at one time can really make a big difference eventually. Do remember that Rome was not built in one day, your choice makes destiny. If you want to attain your set goal, you have to stick to it, try hard and never give up.

　　Now let me talk about our dreams. Do you remember your initial dream? I still remember my initial dream. I want to be a tour guide when I was young, because I hope that I can travel around the world some day. So I am crazy about English learning, and struggle through any difficulty in my life for that dream. And I do know in my class everyone has his own dream, and everyone is fighting to me it come true, and I do notice that we put up our dream colleges on the wall in every classroom. Whether your dream is great or not, only if you make efforts to make your dream come true, you will be respectable.

　　Seize the dream and ideal of life and what we need to do now is never giving up!
